Building Psychologically Safe & Healthy Workplaces: Navigating Gradual Onset Stress
Building Psychologically Safe & Healthy Workplaces: Navigating Gradual Onset Stress
Faculty and staff are invited to attend this engaging session with Dr. Arla Day.
In addition to acute/traumatic workplace events, on-going workplace hazards can exacerbate stress for workers. Nova Scotia has introduced incoming legislation addressing this gradual-onset work stress, and many organizations and workers have questions about what it is and what it means for them.
Dr. Day will talk about these issues in terms of:
- understanding the concept of gradual-onset stress and how it relates to ‘regular’ stress, mental health, & psychological safety
- fostering psychologically healthy workplaces
- integrating psychological safety into workplace health
- leveraging the physical safety literature to talk about stress hazard identification, assessment, and mitigation
