If this is successful, you can then go on to process your print jobs following Step 2 and Step 3.
The Library does not support every operating system, but here are the particulars that should aid you in setting up this service on your computer if you are using something other than Windows XP, Vista or Mac OS X.
Step 2 - Print documents to Wireless Printer
Step 3 - Releasing wireless print jobs (http://lab-printers.smunet.smu.ca/)
Print your document to the Library off-network printer. If you need assistance selecting the printer, see How to Select a Printer.
Next, release the print job by going to http://lab-printers.smunet.smu.ca/ or use the shortcut on your desktop called Web Print Release. It will ask you to login using your S account.
On this webpage you should see a list of your waiting print jobs. Select the job(s) you wish to print, and click the onscreen print icon. On this page you may delete print jobs you no longer wish to print. It will also show how much you have left in print credits.
Like all other printing on campus, print credits will be charged against your 'S' account. The charge will be made only if the job was successful. Failed or deleted jobs will not result in charges taken from your print credits. There is currently no way to see how much print credit is in your "S" account via the wireless network.
The printer is located by the entrance to the Reference Area of the library.
Select the Library off-network printer. There are many ways to do this.
Within an application, such as Microsoft Word, you can select File >> Print.
Then, select the Library off-network printer and click on OK.
You also can set it as the default printer by going to Printers and Faxes and selecting the Library off-network printer.
To select a printer from an application, select File >> Print.
Select the Library off-network printer and click Print.
You can also set it as the default printer by going to System Preferences >> Print & Fax and selecting the Library off-network printer.
Q: I can see my print job in the queue but it won't print.
A. Usually this means that you don't have enough print credit in your "S" account. See the Access Services desk to put more money on your account.
Q: I get a Windows Script Host error when I install the printer.
A. Usually this means you do not have administrative permission to install software on the laptop. Login under an administrative account.
