When Elizabeth MacKenzie looks back on her Sobey EMBA experience, she says it helped her work on building her character.
“Entering the program, I felt as though I had confidence and determination, but enduring the program has taught me that I am able to cultivate even more drive, perseverance, and moxie than and I thought myself capable of.”
Elizabeth says her EMBA experience was filled with memories, and she will be forever grateful for the adaptability of her classmates as they transitioned to an online and hybrid platform. “Everyone welcomed the change, which meant welcoming each other into our homes through early morning and even later night Zoom calls. In fact, I am not sure if there is an hour of the day where I have not been in contact with a cohort member for a school project by now. We were not always in our Sunday best – in fact, almost never – but we made it work!”
Working for a small development company has allowed Elizabeth to actively implement the knowledge she has gained through the EMBA. Now that the program is complete, she aims to take a more prominent management lead on one of the two development projects her firm has on the go. “While continuing to learn from those around me, I am fortunate to be able to work within a wide range of areas that we have learned from in the program.”
