Applying to the Sobey Executive MBA

The Sobey School of Business Executive MBA is a program for professionals. We consider each applicant’s unique skills and strengths and what they will bring to the cohort. We accept a new cohort every two years.

To be considered for admission to the Sobey Executive MBA, candidates should have outstanding promise, leadership potential, and at least five years of work experience with substantive management experience. This could include executive, functional and/or project management. Successful entrepreneurs are also encouraged to apply. All candidates are personally interviewed. An Initial Assessment is also available. 

Candidates must also have:

  1. An undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least a 'B' average (3.0/4.3 GPA) or equivalent.
  2. An official transcript of your undergraduate and, if applicable, graduate studies. With the expectation of candidates with a GPA of 3.0, engineers, Masters of Ph.D. degree holders, professional accounting designation holders and other highly qualified individuals, applicants are typically required to write the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). 
  3. Two written recommendations from colleagues attesting to your day-to-day performance as a leader and professional. One must be from a supervisor.
  4. Application Deadline: June 30th 

Applicants for whom English is not their first language must also submit an official TOEFL, IELTS or Pearson score.

Pre-application Interview

All qualified candidates for the Sobey Executive MBA Program will be interviewed. Following the interview, successful candidates will be invited to apply.

Although this is not a guarantee of admission, it is a positive step that will permit you to approach your employer with confidence. You will also be advised as to what additional steps will be necessary to complete your application. This may involve a presentation of satisfactory scores on the GMAT.
