Rosalie Francis is a Mi’kmaq lawyer who is a member of the Sipekne’katik Mi’kmaq First Nation community. She currently operates a solo practice – RFrancis Law- where her primary clientele is the Indigenous community.
Rosalie has been involved in Aboriginal rights and Aboriginal issues for many years and has extensive experience in working with the Mi’kmaq communities located in the Atlantic region. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Rosalie spent the early part of her career working on Indigenous justice issues, including the implementation of the Donald Marshall Junior Royal Commission Recommendations. She also played an advisory role to the Assembly of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq Chiefs for many years, providing advice and support in governance development in consultation issues, Aboriginal Rights and indigenous environmental knowledge issues.
Rosalie’s areas of practice include Aboriginal law, with a strong background on engagement and governance development, administrative law, environmental law, employment law, and human rights.
