Transition to a virtual university

A woman looks down at the Saint Mary's web page.

The university has shifted to virtual operations.

This decision was informed by all available information, responds to advice and requirements from public health authorities and was a necessary action as part of the university’s commitment to protecting its people and assets.

The majority of faculty and staff are working remotely. Information and support from Human Resources.

Importantly, this decision allows the university to:

  • focus valuable resources on protecting the health and safety of our residence students
  • continue efforts to provide academic continuity
  • sustain services through remote and alternate delivery
  • take action to protect financial operations

For safety and security purposes, if access to campus is needed an approved appointment will be required and must be requested at least 24 hours in advance. Requests for appointments will be considered on a case-by-case basis and reviewed by a Vice-President.

We know that this transition has presented challenges and continues to affect everyone in different ways. We are all thinking of the larger public good and our responsibility to play a leadership role. This situation will end and we will return to normal operations even stronger.

Thank you for your cooperation.
