SMU Spark is an online learning resource for first-year students. Consisting of 12 interactive modules, SMU Spark provides videos and activities on topics essential for student success such as time management, study strategies, mental health resources, money management and career planning.

How do I access SMU Spark?

SMU students can also access SMU Spark independently through Brightspace, the Learning Management System for all SMU courses. Search ‘SMU Spark’ in the ‘Discover’ tab in Brightspace to self-enroll and access the full resource! 

SMU Spark is incorporated into certain 1000-level courses in all three faculties. Professors can include one or more SMU Spark modules in their intro courses. Throughout your first year you will see different modules and learn about different aspects of student success.
