It’s been remarkable to witness the university’s dedication to supporting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set forth by the United Nations. I firmly believe that this commitment will empower us as students to become better global citizens, inspiring us to act with mindfulness and in ways that promote the well-being of both people and the planet.
Reflecting on my time here, it’s refreshing to see Saint Mary’s University’s commitment to environmental sustainability in action. Witnessing initiatives like the stunning three-storey living wall in the atrium/common room reinforces the university’s dedication beyond mere ‘green talk.’ As a young person, knowing that the institution is actively striving for environmental responsibility is incredibly encouraging. This emphasis on sustainability and accessibility isn’t just commendable; it’s essential. It reflects a broader recognition of our responsibility to both future generations and the planet we inhabit.
