Students with Disabilities

Career Services are committed to offering an inclusive service to all students. Students with disabilities can access services for more than the allotted number of sessions per year if required. 

Please let us know of any accommodations you might need in accessing our services. More services for students with disabilities are offered through the Fred Smithers Centre.

Student Employment Initiative 2019-2020

What is the Student Employment Initiative (SEI)?

The SEI program organized with Saint Mary's University Career Services and The Fred Smithers Centre of Support for Students with Disabilities. The SEI is an employment program to assist students with disabilities to secure employment contracts with third-party employers. This program is offered in the fall on a part-time basis and in the summer for full-time work terms. 

Fall Program: Summer Program:
  • 20 Students will be accepted into the program       
  • Undergraduate students and recent graduates
  • Any academic program, 1st year completed
  • $13.00/hour
  • Up to 20 hrs/week
  • September 2019 – April 2020 work term

  • Any academic program, 1st year completed
  • $13.00/hour
  • Part-time and full-time opportunities
  • May 2019 - August 2019 work term, up to 16 weeks

Are you Eligible?

  • Must be a registered with the Fred Smithers Centre
  • Nova Scotia permanent resident or student
  • At least one year of study at a post-secondary institution

Download the application (Student Employment Initiative Intake Form) or pick up a hard copy application at The Fred Smithers Centre or Career Services departments. Fill out the application and drop it off to Bryan Zuniga, Student Employment Initiative Coordinator.
