Microsoft Outlook Performance Issues

Microsoft Outlook is currently exhibiting performance issues with the Outlook client. Some users may notice Outlook using and increased amount of system resources, causing the client to freeze or crash. As of 1 pm ADT , Microsoft is working to resolve the issue.

UPDATE: Microsoft believes all issues have been resolved. Clients must restart their Outlook client to apply the required changes. Outlook web users should refresh their sessions. If that does not resolve the issue web uses clear their browser cache and refresh their Outlook on the web session.

Beginning March 1, 2021, EIT will be upgrading the Trend Micro Endpoint protection software on all SMU laptops / Desktops. Your SMU desktop / laptop device will need to be connected to the SMU network for the upgrade to begin.

WIFI Outage

ITSS will be performing a Prod change on Tuesday, February 11th from 6:00 AM until 8:00 AM. As a result, WIFI access points will be rebooting and this might take a maximum of 30 minutes to be back up .
Only WIFI will be affected due to this outage and rest all should be working fine.

ITSS will be upgrading central network equipment on Saturday Jan 25, between 6am and 3pm. Starting approximately 6:15am, there will be a complete outage of the campus network, including wifi and Internet, expected to last about an hour. After that, there will be brief interruptions for campus services as they are moved to the new equipment. These interruptions are only expected to last a few minutes each. If you experience any issues connecting to or using a campus service, please wait five minutes and try again.
Work and testing will continue into the afternoon, but barring unforeseen issues, we do not expect any service interruptions beyond 1pm.
